First beach trip for 2011

Image
We couldn't have had a more beautiful day in Oxnard. The skies were blue and clear and you could see the channel islands perfectly. Lincoln has asked me a few times over the winter when are we going to the beach. So this morning I had Rocky go out and tell him we were going to the beach today and I heard Lincoln say Finally!! He was very excited. Rocky was not digging the sand. He told me he doesn't like the beach because the sand makes him itchy. He was holding his privates the last hour we were there because the sand was irritating. He had fun with Lincoln playing in the water, and playing freeze tag. I had a great time relaxing in my beach chair watching the boys. I LOVE the beach!! Lincoln said he made a sand seat which was just a mound of sand and then he sat on top of it. Silly boys wanted to be right in front of the camera.

Look at these cute ladybugs...

Whale watching

Image
We went whale watching out of long beach harbor with Briana and the boys. The boys had fun going on the boat and I did not. Once we got out in the ocean my tummy was not agreeing with me. I think it must be from being pregnant because I normally don't get sea sick. We saw sea lions, lots of dolphins, harbor seals, and a feeding frenzy with tons of pelicans, seagulls and dolphins. Rocky bought a $5 cheeseburger on the boat with his own money which was probably the highlight of his trip because he loves cheeseburgers!!! The boys also bought sardines to feed to the sea lions. After going whale watching we went over to the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium. It is a great little aquarium that is free to the public. They would gladly accept donations though. Here the boys are getting eaten by a great white shark. AHHHH!!! Inside the fish tank.

St. Patty's Day

The leprechauns turned the milk green at our house this morning. Then for preschool they got green bagels with green cream cheese and lucky charms. YUMMY!! We had a fun day at school making leprechaun hats and painting rainbows.

Dinner at IHOP

Image
The boys favorite place to eat...because it is one of the only places we will take them to eat out. Kids eat free after 4 PM. So for Rocky's birthday dinner we went to IHOP. He was pretty excited when he got an ice cream sundae and we sang him Happy Birthday. Papa wanted some of that ice cream. Happy Birthday to my adorable boy!!

Funny Faces...I love these silly boys of mine!!!!

The Discovery Science Center

We went on our preschool field trip to the Discovery Science Center in Santa Ana. It was a lot of fun!! The kids all loved it!! They got time to play on each floor. Watched a 4D Movie about a sea turtle, had a presentation about the parts of a plant and photosynthesis, then got to find fossils in the outdoor dino quest. Getting ready for the movie. Future pilot, he wouldn't move from that spot. The Wind Tunnel Aunt Trish on the bed of nails. Rocky looking a little nervous on the bed of nails.

Sunday Morning

It was a sunday morning and I was back in our room when Rocky came running in. Rocky: "I want to watch a movie." Mom: "Ok you can watch a church movie." Which are the animated ones by Richard Rich. Rocky: "NO! I don't want to!" I didn't say anything and he stopped and was thinking for a minute. Rocky: "Spongebob goes to church sometimes."

The Huntington Library

It was FREE day at the Huntington Library. So Vanessa, Briana and I met up and had a fun day enjoying the beauty of nature with the kiddos. I was miserable, tired, irritable and not very fun to be around. Sorry!! Briana took these pictures with an app on her iphone. I love them!!! The Chinese Garden was beautiful! It was under construction the last time we went. They loved watching the big gold fish in the ponds. The Stinky Plant is right behind Rocky on the right. It was REALLY stinky!!! Having fun in the children's garden. They loved this fog machine.
