Rocky's first set of stitches!
The boys were jumping around on the couch which is not out of the ordinary when all of a sudden Lincoln gives Rocky a little shove and Rocky goes head first into the wood frame of the ottoman. He starts wailing immediately and then once he sees the blood on his glasses and face it got noticably louder. Then when we said we had to go to the doctor and have him look at it the crying turned into hysteria. He did NOT want to go to the doctor. It was about seven in the evening so Rich stayed home with Lincoln and I took Rocky over to the instacare. They took us back into a room only for the doctor to come in and tell us he couldn't do it, and we had to go to the ER because he was to young. So they changed the bandaid and we headed over to the hospital. We went in, registered and waited. We only had to wait about 20 minutes before they called Rockwell back. We went into the room with the nurse and she put the little thing with the red light on his finger. Not sure what that checks. Then she took his temperature under his tongue and then she put the blood pressure cuff on his arm. They had a little tiny one for his little arm. He thought all of that was pretty cool. Then we went back on a bed and waited for the doctor. He recommended stitches rather than the glue because of his age it would hold up better. Then he told me we would have to wrap him up in a sheet so that he wouldn't be able to move his arms. So the assistant put his arms through a pillow case behind his back and then we wrapped him up in a sheet. He was so brave I was having a hard time not crying. He just had this scared worried look on his face it was heartbreaking. So then we laid him on his back, the doctor cleaned the cut and then went in with the needle to numb the area. That didn't feel good and it looked excrutiating. He cried for maybe twenty seconds and the second he was done with the numbing he stopped crying. The doctor then stitched him up with four little stitches. Rocky thinks they are pretty cool. The best line of the night is when we walked out of the hospital to go home, I was carrying Rocky and he said, "That was fun!"
