My Nana's Funeral

Image
What a great day!! Some people may say that is kind of an unusual thing to say about someone's funeral but it was just that a great day! It was a day of family, of reminiscing, it was a day to remember the wonderful woman that I called Nana! I don't remember much of when I was a child but I do remember going to my Nana and Papa's house often! I remember playing throughout their home and getting lost in their yard! Not really getting lost it was just so big we had so much fun running around. I remember playing with her beautiful square dancing outfits, I remember playing hide and seek and thinking I wasn't allowed in their bedroom. Maybe I wasn't I don't know. I remember family dinners, which she loved more than anything! But most of all I remember the first thing she would ask for the moment I would walk in the door and whenever I was leaving was, "Where is my kiss?" She loved everybody and loved showing her affection! I have been blessed to have wonde...

Daddy's 1st Post!!!

My wife put my new nine mil. glock to my head and told me that I needed to blog or she would pull the trigger so..... today I was forcing the boys to practice on their bikes and lower their lap times on their technical home track, I am trying to get them to brake deeper and carry more corner speed, anyway Rocky started to goof off and practice his winning celebration tricks. His cousin Nixon loaned him one of his spare race bikes which is cool because it is yellow! and has reverse, anyway Rocky starts to pedal backwards which on this bike it actually propels the bike backwards(most bikes don't do that). This is normal and I am just watching with Soph, all of a sudden Rocky displays some superhuman toddler strength and pedals forward sending the bike into a wheel stand or pop-a-wheelie! For a brief moment this display of skill and strength from a mere two year old has me envisioning myself as a proud father watching Rocky win the 2025 MotoGp world championship. This vision though la...

Memorial Day!

So today was the LA Marathon. The first marathon I ever decided to run and trained for 13 weeks until I got injured, what a bummer! I decided last December to do it and downloaded an 18 week training program. So in January I started running very slowly at first! I couldn't believe how out of shape I was. I started running a few mornings a week with Kim, a friend in my ward and I could barely breath. Then after like two weeks I was getting shin splints pretty bad so I became a shin splint expert. I read all sorts of ways to heal them and I went to the local running store and got some awesome new shoes! My shoes I had were like two years old at least. So I kept running but just took it easy and my shin splints eventually went away. Then at week 13 I did one of my long runs with Brett and Briana we ran 18 miles and I felt like I could have kept going and going! I had so much energy, the next week I woke up early monday morning and ran my five mile loop with Kim and the rest of that da...

Irwindale Speedway

Image
Brett hooked us up with some suite tickets to the Irwindale Speedway. It's a half mile oval track. They have all the race cars out on the track before the race so the kids can go around and look at them and get autographs from the drivers. I was following Lincoln around and he had his eye out. All he was looking for was if the car had candy on it and then he would want to stop. If they didn't have candy he would pass them by.

Our First BLUEberries

Image
Aren't they beautiful!! We were very excited, every couple days the boys go out and check for more ripe blueberries and they eat them right off the bush!  THUMBS UP BABY!!!

The training has begun!!

So I have been putting off the whole potty training thing with Rocky but this last weekend I thought okay I'm just going to start on Monday. But I have told myself that before. So this morning Rocky came in my room and I held him in bed with me for a little and then he was laying there and said "Mom poo poo" and grabbed at his diaper. He will say that in the morning to tell me to change his diaper. But I asked him if he needed to go pee pee and I checked his diaper and it was dry. WOO HOO!! So we rushed to the potty and it took him a minute but then he let it all out! For the past few months he will go sporadically, he's gone poop and pee in the potty but now we are really doing it! We made a pee chart and a poo chart and it's only 10:30 and he already has three stickers on his pee chart and one sticker on his poo chart. And get this he told me he had to go poop. So we went on the big potty and he wouldn't go so I said do you want to go on your little potty an...

Our Nightly Ritual

Image
I was out taking pictures because I wanted to capture Rocky in his first stage of riding a bike. He is doing so great, Nixon let Rocky borrow his little bike until he is comfortable enough to ride Lincoln's old bike. Rocky loves his lellow bike. He thinks it is pretty cool that he can ride around the track now with his brother. Except when they are going in opposite directions and have a head on collision. Lincoln is getting really good we went on about a three mile bike ride the other night and there were some pretty good inclines that he rode up! He asked me to take a picture of him posed like this... Some action shots. Thumbs up!! His diaper was full of pee so off it went and he kept on going.

Trip to the Beach

Image
My adorably nephew Rossi turned one so we went down to Orange County to celebrate. We went to the montage beach for a few hours and then went over to their house for the birthday celebration!! Happy Birthday Rossi!! Daddy took the day off and came with us which was so much fun!!  Rocky would have done this all day long, he was having so much fun! I think we are going to have to be major beach bums this summer!! Daddy and Uncle Norris were pulling the boys around on the boogie boards! Playing in the tide pools, we saw six big crabs! It was a very fun day!

Lincoln's First Race

Image
Waiting for the 6 and under group to start. They are pumped up!! It was a one mile race and they had a loop that they run around twice, so this is the halfway point only 1/2 mile to go!! The end of the race, he is hammered and the joy of being three is he thinks he won the race but he came in last!! He did awesome though and we created some memories!! After the race, all the finishers got a medal. Lincoln's time was 12:14. Good job boys!!
