Sign Waving Experience!
So for about a week and a half in the mornings I would drop my kids off at my moms and go stand on a corner of an intersection completely exposed to whatever anyone wanted to say, gesture, or throw! The first time I was a little nervous but it turned out to be a fun experience. Every morning I would get up and look forward to holding up my sign that said "Protect Traditional Marriage" Vote YES on 8!! The night before the election was a totally different experience, we had a big rally at the corner of Valencia Blvd. and McBean. It's one thing to stand with people who have your same beliefs but to stand amidst opposition was very interesting. I was standing with a group of people some holding yes signs and some holding no signs. I really had to bite my tongue a few times to not get into a debate with these teenagers. The majority of the no on 8 group were not even old enough to vote. I know we need to be respectful and maintain peace but it was hard when you hear things that are degrading and disrespectful to me. But I did it and I will always remember it and this is just the beginning of the fight to stand up for what is moral and right!!!
