Christmas Eve

Our family Christmas picture in front of our tree!

Growing up we always did the nativity with the kids and read about Christ's birth from the Bible. This year I wanted to do something a little bit more, so I put together a program incorporating songs in between verses of scripture. Since I was technically in charge I was supposed to decide which one of these beautiful little girls got to be Mary, because they both wanted to be Mary. So instead of breaking one of their hearts I decided what the heck they can both be Mary. It was actually really sweet and after the program was over my Granny Ann said to me that it was the most precious thing seeing the two Mary's both holding a baby Jesus. The evening was wonderful, it was so great to be with family celebrating the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ.
The true meaning of Christmas!!

Rocky came and went while the kids made their way out. Here he is helping me with the program! What's next Rocky?

Lincoln, Ashton and Timmy were the three wise men! What handsome boys! Here is a story that I heard afterwards. Lincoln had all that jewelry on which Uncle Chase had helped with so in the middle of the program he looks at Uncle Chase and says, "I have to go pee." I'm sure he was thinking how am I supposed to do that with all this stuff on me.

I had called my cousin Marshall a few days before Christmas Eve to see if there was any possible way that he could learn, We Three Kings of Orient Are, on the guitar and then teach it to Norris, and Rich. So the great guy that he is got online and found some tabs for the song. He learned it on the guitar and Norris and Rich sang the words. They practiced for maybe a half hour before we started the program and it was my favorite part. They sounded great, even though they weren't sure how the melody went at the end it was still awesome. I will try and post a video link sometime within the next year!! Ha Ha I am so behind on my posts!!

Early presents, aren't they the best!! Hattie got her very first real Barbie doll, I had to post this picture she was so excited!!
The boys got light sabers and tennis raquets complete with spongebob tennis balls from Grammy and Grampy!! They were in heaven!! Lincoln's favorite color is red so I guess he has joined the dark side!! They also got the animated Book of Mormon movies which they love!! Thanks Grammy and Grampy you guys are awesome!!! Thanks for the wonderful Christmas Eve and the always yummy, yummy food!!!
