One More Step Completed

So this last December Rich decided he was going to apply for LA City Fire Department. So we began the long process. We filled out the application online and then you wait to get a date to take the written exam. In the meantime Rich studied like crazy these fire fighter exam books. He also had to go take his CPAT which is a physical agility test. He passed that of course. Then he finally got his test date and took that on February 21st. After the test he called me and was freaking out because it wasn't anything like the books he had been studying for two months. So he thought he had failed. You have to wait two weeks for your written test score to come in the mail which never came so he finally called and he passed!!! Yeah we were so excited!! If you fail the written you can't take it again for one year. So in February we signed Rich up for an accelerated EMT course through Simi Valley Adult School. That started on March 5th and was four days a week for ten hours a day. He did that for two weeks then had a week off to complete a ten hour ambulance ride-a-long. Then he had one more week of school to finish. It was like completing a 6 credit class in three weeks so it was extremely intense. But he passed that too!! Not only did he pass he got 2nd in his class on his skills testing, which is doing scenarios, checking blood pressure, and all sorts of other things they needed to test on. Then in the overall class he came in close second! The boys and I went down to the little graduation ceremony they did for the class. We are so very proud of daddy and his accomplishments he worked very hard and it showed! We also just found out that he passed the national registry exam which he took on April 11th. So he is now officially a certified EMT in the great state of California!!
Here we are at daddy's school for his graduation!!!
Then at Grammy and Grampy's for our weekly Sunday dinner. Grammy made yummy rice krispy treats to celebrate!!!
