Easter
I just love Easter, it is such a wonderful holiday celebrating our savior and his resurrection. The time of year is so beautiful when everything is starting to blossom and grow, everything is receiving it's new life, just as our savior conquered death. It brings me hope and peace in my life. I know our Savior lives and suffered for us that we may one day live again with him and our Father in Heaven!!
About a month or so before Easter we were watching home videos because I didn't have most of them labeled so we were going through all of them labeling them and then we watched last year's easter egg hunt Lincoln got all excited and wanted to know when Easter was coming. So I told him, but he doesn't really get the time thing yet. So everyday he would ask me when Easter was coming. So we finally made one of those ring things with paper and then he got to rip one ring off everyday. That was the first one we have made and it works like a charm. Everyday he would pull one off and say in his very excited voice, "We are getting a little bit closer to Easter!" So we kicked off our easter celebration at the Halladay's house Saturday afternoon for the ward annual Easter Egg Hunt after running a whopping 18 miles with Brett and Briana. All the kids bring a dozen eggs and then they get to find the same amount. It was very fun. Then that night we went over to Nana and Papa's house and they opened their easter baskets and got to go on a little hunt finding chocolate eggs and bunnies. So fun!! Then my kids hadn't decorated eggs so I brought their eggs over there and Sierra helped Lincoln decorate our eggs. So Sunday morning the Easter bunny had come and left their easter baskets on the table. Lincoln's favorite thing was his new race car and motorcycle video games. I tried to emphasize the true meaning of Easter and so I had a picture of Christ in both of their baskets and I had some scripture stickers and a scripture pencil in Lincoln's basket. If you asked him why we celebrate Easter he would say, Lincoln: "Um because Heavenly Father died?"
Mommy: "Jesus."
Lincoln: "Oh yeah and he came back to life!"
He is very sweet! So then we went to church and I told Lincoln that the Easter bunny was going to come hide our eggs while we were at church. So when we got home, Rich distracted the kids and I went in the back and hid all the easter eggs. They were so excited to go find the eggs. When Rocky would find one he would chuck it into his basket and I could just hear them crack. I didn't mind because I made yummy deviled eggs after to take to the Lawrence's house.
Lincoln was having so much fun, every time he would find an egg he would show me and say take a picture of this one mom!!
What good looking boys, I know they are mine so I am prejudice. But we do have some good looking little studs!!! I got Lincoln his new church clothes at Kohl's, his clothes were getting a little small. So I got the shirt and tie for $11. I thought that was pretty good. His pants were around $20 but they are so cute, they had cheaper ones but they looked a lot cheaper so I went with the cuter ones. They both looked so handsome!!
The Easter bunny stuck these stickers of Jesus on some of the eggs to remind us of him.
Holding up their baskets loaded down with Easter eggs, what strong boys!!
