Day 2-Pioneer Day

We love to go to Utah the end of July so we can take part in the 24th of July celebration. So one thing I wanted to do was take the kids to the parade in Salt Lake City. It was a pain in the neck finding our way through downtown because they had all the roads blocked off for the parade and the marathon. We finally made our way through and we went to the end of the parade route because we were late and we didn't want to miss anything. The prophet is usually at the beginning of the parade. He wasn't in it this year but we did get to see President Eyring and wave to him and his wife. The Salt Lake motorcycle cops came by and were doing cool formations and then a group of them came by and gave the boys high fives. The rest of the parade Rocky wanted to give everyone a high five. It was so dang hot I poured water on the boys and we ended up moving off of the street back on this grassy knoll under a tree which was much more pleasant. The kids could run around and then stop and watch the parade as they wished. They had a good time!!
Just dumped water on their heads! It felt so good they kept asking for more and then Rocky wanted his shirt off because it was soaking wet.
Boiling in the sun!!
Much better in the shade!!!
These kids love their grandma!!
Getting Auntie Trishy with a stick!!

Uncle Norris and Aunt Brenna came up and we wanted to go to Lorena's and get a smothered burrito with cheese, but they were closed for the holiday. So we went to La Frontera which has the same menu and it was so delicious. The kids stayed with Heather so we then went over to their house to do fireworks. So Uncle Norris and Uncle Chris were the fire technicians.

Norris and Brenna making a heart.
Uncle Norris and Lincoln doing an L for Lincoln.
