Summer Trip to Utah- Day 1

We began our drive to Utah at about 2:00 in the afternoon on the 22nd of July. The boys were absolutely perfect the entire 10 hour drive. Not one complaint, not even a whimper out of them. About halfway into the drive Lincoln kept asking over and over, "How much longer until we get to Utah." He doesn't quite understand the time concept so he continued to ask until he fell asleep at around nine thirty. They were very excited to go stay at Grandma and Grandpa's house. The next morning Rich went with his brother and sister on a bike ride in Salt Lake on a trail he rode on as a kid. They had a great time. I went with Charlene, Heather and the kids to Hattie's swim lesson. She is swimming so good! On the way back to Bountiful we stopped at The Soup Kitchen and got some sandwiches and the most delicious creamy tomato soup ever made. We make a point to eat at all of our favorite places. So we ate lunch and then headed up to Park City. Rich's mom treated all of us kids and grandkids to the all inclusive pass. So we could go on the Alpine slide, the Alpine Coaster, the zipline and all the kiddie rides at the base as much as we wanted. The boys loved racing down the slide and the coaster. Rocky especially liked the merry-go-round, train and airplane ride. We were riding up the ski lift the first time and it started to lightly drip on us, there was some clouds directly above us. When we bought our passes one thing they told us was there were no refunds due to weather. So when it started to rain I got a little nervous because they close the Alpine Slide. So Lincoln and I said, "Rain, rain go away come again another day." Then I said Lincoln why don't you say a prayer to Heavenly Father for the rain to go away so we could ride the slide. So he did. When he was done he felt another drip and said, "why didn't the rain go away." So I told him he needed to have faith that his prayer would be answered. So we got to the top and they had stopped the slide and we had to wait for a minute. Then they started letting people go and we didn't feel another drop the rest of the day. We wanted to do the zip line at some point and they closed it down and then they re opened it about an hour before it closed so we adults went up and rode it. We had such a fun day, it was great to be with the family!! Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!! Then to top off the day we stopped at Litza's Pizza and got some to go. Our favorite pizza place. We took it home and watched fire works on Rich's parents balcony.
